So, have you ever held an Olympic Gold or Canadian Esso Nationals Gold Medal?
"THE TRADITION CONTINUES"

The Tradition Continues has been the Toronto Aeros tagline for many years and are so proud of the simple fact we have been assisting high performance female athletes for over 25 years in accomplishing their academic and athletic goals.

2005 CAMP PHOTOS (Click Here)

We are very proud that over the past four summers we have assisted and aided over 300 female hockey players from all over Canada and the USA meet their both these needs especially in the area of high performance needs. Numerous alumni from this camp have gone on to compete with Team Ontario in the Canada Winter Games, PWHL, NWHL and Canada's U-18 & 22 Programs. There is also a long list of players past and present who have attended and competed in Canadian and USA College and Universities.

The camp was designed to meet and provide three specific target goals

1) ATHLETES ENVIRONMENT:
  • To provide a positive ENVIRONMENT for both education and athletics for athletes and parents who wish to increase their female hockey awareness and overall knowledge.
  • To provide multi sport high performance athletes and their parents the opportunity to participate in a weekend setting due to various time and financial constraints.
  • To provide an environment whereby similar level athletes may come together with the same higher level goals and participate in a high performance program.
  • To provide an opportunity for high performance athletes who compete in off season athletics such as soccer, baseball, lacrosse and inline hockey, to attend and efficiently utilize their available time.
ATHLETES ENVIRONMENT DETAILS
Come feel what it is like to play in the NWHL or Canadian National Women's high performance program for a weekend this summer and receive the high performance level of training and treatment you desire and require from Canada's most successful summer hockey program.

By providing a professionally run camp we will ensure a positive environment for both athletes and their families. We review each years athlete/ parent survey results in an effort to offer the best camp available to our participants as well search out new information pertinent to our guests. Although it is an intense weekend of education complete with both and on and off ice instruction, we always find some free time to allow for fun and enjoyable social settings.

Your On Ice Program Director is Team Canada Asst Coach/ Scout, Head Coach and Director of Player & Coach Development for the Toronto Aeros, Mr. Ken Dufton. Ken and his highly dedicated colleagues, staff and other special guests will assist you in accomplishing these specific goals throughout the entire weekend.
2) ATHLETES EDUCATION:
  • To provide an EDUCATIONAL element to both the athletes and parents to gather required information at the regional, provincial, national and international levels.
  • To provide and ensure the Educational elements supplied have been structured to properly prepare each family towards their individual needs.
  • To provide numerous Q & A sessions to ensure an unrestricted opportunity is given to receive factual information and the correct answers in a positive environment.
  • To provide educational seminars geared towards today's female high performance athlete and the topics, which surround their current playing environments.
  • To provide and continually review and secure key note speakers who are the most knowledgeable in their chosen fields and inspirational to all participants.
  • To provide the opportunity to participate first hand the National Women's High Performance educational format as well the on ice conditioning elements.
ATHLETES EDUCATION DETAILS
Everyone knows how valuable and empowering information can be! We love to share this with the parents and athletes to ensure they are correct in their thoughts and remove any discrepancies they may have entered the camp with.
The key to this camp is to ensure your leave educated and to supply you the knowledge based options in better understanding the overall process.
The more educated you are the better you can set short and long term goals and build a stronger path to your success.
Here is a quick listing of the Off Ice seminar components we have discussed in the past over weekends.

3) ATHLETES EVALUATION:
  • To provide a thorough and complete EVALUATION of the athletes current skills and areas which need to be worked upon through third party evaluators.
  • To provide the evaluation process in the same manner as the National High Performance Program. This includes the 5 Key Core Areas of skill development which further entails and encompasses 47 individual skill set areas for our athletes. Each area is discussed throughout the camp in a separate group setting seminar.
  • To ensure this evaluation information is presented in an unbiased format to properly prepare athletes for future opportunities in a high performance environment.
ATHLETES EVALUATION DETAILS
Our evaluation process is the same as the National Women's High Performance Program and will provide a much clearer path to what you do well and what you need to direct your attention to in preparation for your upcoming season.

Coach Ken and Canadian National Level players and other highly accredited personnel in female hockey will let you know through your extensive evaluation process what needs to be properly maintained and which key areas require your attention to be improved upon.

All of our evaluators are current and past coaches, scouts, female hockey directors and administrators who annually participate in National - Provincial and Regional Elite Level High Performance Selection Camps.

Upon completion of your week at camp you will receive your personalized complete evaluation. This evaluation covers the 5 Key Core Areas of Skill Development;Skating, Puck Control, Shooting, Checking, Core Qualities

It is once again broken down into 47 different key skill components of your overall evaluation.

Your evaluation will also include various unedited individual comments made by the evaluators over the course of the week.

Using the right approach to utilizing this evaluation information will assist you in setting a clearer direction of your goals in accomplishing your scholastic and athletic dreams.

All first time registrants are recommended to call first to ensure this is the program they desire and help guide you before making your final decision.

Here is what a first year participant had to say:
Dear GP,

Just got back home from the Elite camp and boy am I ever tired. Mom and dad look pretty bushed but smiling as well. They never stopped talking about the camp all the way home, probably the best ride home in years! I never realized the amount of effort that goes into becoming an elite athlete wanting to play for Team Canada or in the NWHL. WOW what an eye opener and I have already decided to start working my plan through contacting schools and getting into the gym to develop my core strength-conditioning plan.

The seminars on Time Management and Stress were very usefull and eye opening to say the least, I'm pretty sure when I wake up each day now I will now exactly what i would like to get out of the day...those mini goals should be easy to accomplish(:>) My favorite time was listening to Team Canada Head Coach Karen Hughes speaking about the recruitment process and everything that's involved.

The presentations from Cheryl Pounder, Geraldine Heaney, Sami-Jo Small about their perspective on becoming an elite athlete was just incredible, heart warming, passionate and exciting. I never thought I would ever get that emotional while watching a video of Team Canada play, I get goose bumps even when typing right now.

I can't say enough about Mr. Dufton and what he did for me as a player. His encouragment and devotion to female hockey just blew me away and never realized he had been doing this for 25 years. As you said, "Our parents are here now for emotional and financial support...the future is now in our hands" well I am starting my future now by confirming my committment to following this plan. The camp was just top notch and will be recommending it to all A-AA-AAA players as my coach is great but unfortunately they just did not know all this stuff about what i need to do and hearing it first hand was exactly what i needed to hear in my life.

Thank you so much for the invite it will be top priority on my list of Must Do's for next summer.

Jessica (Athlete) Eganville Ontario
Here's what a parent had to say:
GP,
We are home just about a week since my girls attended the Aeros Elite Camp and I wanted you to know that they haven't stopped talking about what an exceptional experience the had. The information and instruction received from sources that have lived the dreams of my girls is invaluable and has truly inspired both to "light the fire within". Ken Dufton's hockey knowledge and coaching style truly facilitated the confidence and talent of each player there. This is a "One-of-a-kind" type of camp and will quickly become known as the camp that the highest-level women hockey athletes must have and will have attended. We should build on the CAN-AM relationship, as the information is applicable no matter which side of the border one resides. We look forward to seeing you again next year. Ruth Hamlin (Mom), New York USA

If you are that serious about your academic and athletics, then this is the camp you need to attend!
Our camp has been designed to allow you to advance your level of play and knowledge for your future years.
