Good afternoon,
On behalf of the Scarborough Sharks Girls Hockey Association, I am writing to you with much regret that due to the rapid increase in Covid-19 cases in Ontario and in the interest of protecting the health and safety of all participants and families, the Scarborough Sharks has canceled the upcoming 37th Annual New Year's Classic Tournament on January 7 - 9th, 2022. This decision was not made lightly with serious consideration to the impacts to teams, players and families. The Sharks weighed all options and finally with the written recommendations of Toronto Public Health, it was decided that the tournament could not proceed this year as planned.
Thank you to all who tried to keep this tournament going, and participation active until this point, but with the sudden surge of Covid-19 cases across the hockey community, the Scarborough Sharks could not continue the tournament in good conscience. We look forward to seeing you in 2023!
Refund information and details will follow in the weeks ahead.
