The Annual Pony Tail Tournament is an exciting and fun end-of-season event for teams from the Carolinas to Connecticut. Last March, in our fourth annual tournament, we had 36 teams. This season we are aiming for 60, and we would really like to see girls from Canada, New England and the Midwest at our tournament! Make yours the first Canadian team to compete in the Pony Tail! The U19 and U16 tournament will be held at the twin-sheet York City Ice Rink in York, Pa., with some Friday night and Saturday morning games at Mount Pleasant Ice Arena in Baltimore. The U10, U12 and U14 tournament will be held at the twin-sheet Ice World rink in Abingdon, Maryland, also with some games 30 minutes away at Mount Pleasant in Baltimore. York, Pa. is just 30 minutes from the fabulous Hershey Park and the Giant Center, home of the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League. It is also just 30 minutes away from Lancaster, Pa. and Pennsylvania Dutch country. Ice World is located off Interstate-95, about 75 minutes from Philadelphia, an hour from Washington, D.C., 40 minutes from Annapolis and just 30 minutes from Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Opening Ceremonies and All-Team Skates. New special trophies for champs and runners-up. Goodie bags and T-shirts for every player. Several off-ice activities of interest to players and parents. We invite every prep school and East Coast Division I and Division III womens' varsity and club-team coach. Special guest appearance by Olympian Kim Insalaco. Girls will get to skate with Kim, and possibly a second Olympian, during the all-team skates on Saturday. Worthy cause: The Pony Tail is hosted by the non-profit Susquehanna Rapids Girls Hockey Program. A portion of any proceeds from the event goes to the Patterson Park Stars, a hockey program for underprivileged children sponsored by one of our parent clubs, Baltimore Youth Hockey. Three-game guarantee.
